Splitting

As part of the project «Splitting», I explored several historically significant spaces in Tsarskoye Selo, which have a difference between their original purpose and their subsequent use. I was interested in architectural structures that represent the legacy of the tsarist era, but are in a state of decay. In accordance with the demands of the time, many of them were adapted for research institutions of the agricultural industry and plant growing. Careful attention to the state of urban spaces and their detailed «portraiting» allowed me to trace the layering of reflections of eras and identify their new role, and perhaps its absence in the present reality.
