Dry Ridge

«Dry Ridge» is based on research into the place where my maternal roots originate—a peninsula and village bordering Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. This place is layered with history, from a submerged ancient civilization to a Soviet torpedo testing base. But the elements of nature always exert a stronger hold. The arid terrain, hot sand, salty, ice-free lake, the contours of the Tien Shan mountain ranges, and the isolation make the space simultaneously picturesque and dramatic.

The project is implemented in the format of a photobook.
